Players spent days hammering the Sonar Station trying combinations and the whole thing got cracked more or less by accident when someone on the Japanese server stumbled into it while calibrating ping frequency. The sub just appeared in his dry dock, no fanfare, no notification, nothing.

That speed gap means roe-406 can flat-out outrun torpedoes with decent positioning. The stealth torpedoes leave no wake signature, so the first warning an enemy sonar operator gets is the hit itself. And Silent Running turns finishing a wounded roe-406 into guesswork — it drops off the grid right when you’d normally close for the kill, slinks off, repairs, comes back.
The catch and it’s a small one: the hull runs about 15% thinner than the Barracuda’s, so a clean depth charge connection genuinely hurts. Landing that connection is the problem.
Unlocking It — The Exact Sequence
This part has to be precise, the rhythm matters:
- Open the Sonar Station from your base menu — main menu only, not mid-match.
- Set the frequency dial to exactly 406 Hz using the fine-tune slider.
- Tap Ping in this pattern: short, long, short, short, long.
- Wait for the faint echo (roughly 4 seconds), then press and hold Ping for a full two seconds.
- Screen flickers, a distorted voice says “Rogue Element online” — that’s it.
The sub lands in your dry dock at zero crafting cost. A few players needed an app restart before it showed, but the unlock flag saves instantly, so don’t panic if the dock looks empty at first. And it only works on the current patch — older APKs simply don’t contain the asset.
Should You Bother?
If you play ranked, yes and quickly. Speed, stealth and an escape passive stacked on one hull is the strongest ambush kit in the game right now and I’d honestly be surprised if it survives the next balance pass untouched — power like this never does. There’s also something almost old-fashioned about the unlock itself, a sonar puzzle instead of a loot box, the kind of easter egg games mostly stopped making. Get it before the nerf hammer finds it.
