Monster Trainer

Monster Trainer is a game that's openly inspired by Pokemon. It copies the theme, the looks of the game, and even the names of the monsters. Despite all that, it features a combat system that's completely different from the original game.

In Monster Trainer you have the choice of four different characters when you start your adventure. You can choose between Ash, Misty, Jesse and James. Depending on which one you choose, you begin the adventure with one monster or another. In any case, it doesn't take long to begin adding other monsters to your collection.

In this game, you have no control over your monsters during battle; they attack and use special abilities automatically. What you can control is their equipment. Before combat, you can equip them with lots of different weapons, armor, amulets, etc.

The main goal in the game, as in the original one, is to collect all the creatures. Considering there are more than a hundred different types, this task can take a good amount of time. Plus, combats get harder as you play and advance in the storyline.

Monster Trainer is a pretty entertaining role-playing game that's especially interesting for Pokemon fans. It's not exactly the same as those games, but it offers a similar experience. That said, you need to be connected to the Internet in order to play.
